Leslie Schmunk Music Studio
Policy Statement
September 1, 2006 – August 31, 2007
Expectations
Students are expected to arrive on time for each lesson, well prepared with all music, assignment notebook, clean hands and fingernails clipped. Parents are encouraged to attend a minimum of three lessons per year. If you are not attending your child’s lesson, please make sure you are here to pick them up on time.
Parents share the responsibility with the student to set aside a regular time for practicing at least 5 days a week. Practicing should be an automatic part of their daily routine. Please provide an atmosphere conducive to learning by providing good lighting, a metronome and words of encouragement.

Fees and Payments
1. All private lesson fees are fixed monthly, reserving a specific time slot with the teacher for that student.
2. Monthly payments are to be made on or before the 1st of the month for that month’s instruction.
3. All accounts still due after the 2nd lesson of the month will be subject to termination of instruction until the account is made current.
4. Private instruction beginning at any time other than the first week of the month will be pro-rated.
5. The student must pay for all materials required by the instructor.
6. All instruction fees are non-refundable.
Absences and Vacations
1. Your advance notification, if unable to attend a lesson, is a courtesy, not only to the teacher, but to other students as well. We regret that we cannot excuse you from payment for reserved lesson time.
2. The teacher is not required to make up lessons missed by the student. Students are still held responsible for payment for that lesson.
3. If the teacher is absent, the lesson will either be rescheduled by the teacher, or deducted from the following month’s payment.
4. Vacation time by students will be pro-rated ONLY if notification is given two (2) weeks in advance. The teacher may elect to make up lessons missed due to vacations.
5. If the student arrives more than 15 minutes late for a lesson, they will be considered a no-show, and the lesson will be cancelled.
